the millennium bug occurs when the RTC (real time clock) year changes from 99 to 00; those BIOS that always add 19 will continue to do so, making the year after 1999 1900! motherboards in PCs have a clock in the CMOS called the RTC . the RTC date is stored as day/month/year, each as 2 digit numbers. when the RTC/BIOS date is requested, some BIOS add 1900 as the century; others apply a value stored elsewhere in the CMOS. this may lead to data corruption. mddansby offers a comprehensive, cost effective solution, saving your organization time and money dealing with the PC millennium bug and the leap year bug.
